Funeral services for Wilma Mae Hartley were held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Wilma Mae (Exon) Hartley, 77, of Cortez, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013.
Wilma was born at her family ranch near Mancos, Colo. on March 30, 1936, to the late Henry and Myrtle (Saltiel) Exon, the fifth of their seven children. Wilma attended Mancos High School and later received an LPN certificate from Community Hospital in Durango, Colo. Wilma was married to Homer Hartley on Oct. 1, 1954, in Aztec, N.M.
Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family and was the host of many family reunions. Wilma was also a member of the La Plata County Search and Rescue during the 1970s.
Wilma is survived by her three children, Joe Hartley of Vancouver, Wash., Julie (Hartley) Crawford of Cortez, and Matthew Hartley of Durango; her sisters, Lorene Eaton and Neva Gagnebin of Farmington, N.M.; and her brother, Dewey Exon of Oakley, Idaho. Wilma is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
