Representatives from colleges and universities from across the United States and beyond will converge in Aspen next month to help high school students, families and counselors learn more about continuing educational opportunities.
The ninth annual Colorado Western Slope College Fair will be held at Aspen High School in Aspen on Sunday, Oct. 6. More than 2,000 high school students are expected to attend, including students from the Mancos High School.
"The Mancos School District will provide free transportation, accommodations and Sunday breakfast for all interested students," said trip organizer Katie Cahill-Volpe. "They will depart on Saturday and return on Sunday evening."
The deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 27. For more information, contact Superintendent Brian Hanson at bhanson@mancosre6.edu.
Representatives from more than 250 colleges, universities, two-year and technical schools and gap-year service learning programs are slated to attend to answer questions about degrees and programs offered, and explain application processes and requirements to high school students from 60 Colorado Western Slope high schools.
The Colorado Western Slope College Fair also hosts 23 workshops before and during the fair on diverse topics of interest such as financial aid, the student athlete and college access for Latino students.
