12:31 a.m. An officer issued an active warrant to a female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
3:40 a.m. An officer arrested a man at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., for violating a trespass notice. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
11:19 a.m. An officer issued an active warrant to a male inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
4:25 p.m. An officer issued an active warrant to a woman at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. She was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
9:22 p.m. An officer questioned a man who was standing near a dumpster in the 400 block of E. Main St. because of an ongoing problem of illegal dumping. The man had an active warrant. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Wednesday, Nov 6
2:38 a.m. An officer arrested a woman for an outstanding warrant after being dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street about a 911 hangup call. The woman was also cited for possession of meth and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
8:45 a.m. An officer was called to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. about a report of illegal camping. A woman with an outstanding warrant was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
3:43 p.m. An officer was called to McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., about a two-vehicle crash the parking lot. A driver in a 2205 or a 2006 F-250 in the drive-thru backed into another vehicle and drove off. The F-250 could not be located.
11:58 p.m. An officer was called to the 1400 block of Mesa Verde Street about a report of a stolen firearm. A woman gave the officer a description of the gun, its serial number and suspicion on who might have stolen the gun. The officer filed a report.
Thursday, Nov. 7
10:17 a.m. An officer was called to the lobby of the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., about a woman who was turning herself in on an active warrant. The woman was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
4:49 p.m. An officer was called to the lobby of the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., about a woman collecting keys who had an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
5:49 p.m. An officer was called to the 400 block of S. Beech St. because of a reported disturbance. A man’s ex-wife was involved in a fight with his girlfriend. The ex-wife left, and when contacted by an officer appeared to be intoxicated. The woman had a restraining order barring her from drinking. She was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Friday, Nov. 8
12:08 a.m. An officer stopped a SUV in the 200 block of Main Street after observing the vehicle make a left turn onto Main Street without signaling. The woman who was driving appeared intoxicated and failed several roadside sobriety checks. She was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
1:07 a.m. An officer was called to the 800 block of S. Chestnut Street about a report of three men fighting. When the officer arrived three men and a woman were involved in a dispute. One of the men was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault causing bodily injury. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
3:01 p.m. An officer was called about a shoplifting call to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. A store employee told the officer that two juvenile males had left the story with numerous items in a shopping cart that they had not paid for. The juveniles could not be identified.
8:56 p.m. An officer was called to the 400 block of E. Main Street about a verbal dispute. The subjects have been denied purchase of alcohol at a liquor store because it was suspected that they were buying the liquor for minors. One of the suspects appeared to be intoxicated. He had a restraining order banning him from consuming alcohol. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Saturday, Nov. 9
6:43 p.m. An officer was called to the 600 block of S. Washington Street about a disturbance. A man was involved in a dispute with his son. The man was arrested for violating a restraining order and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
7:55 p.m. An officer was advised by resident of a person lying in the street in the 100 block of S. Madison. The officer recognized the woman from previous encounters. She appeared intoxicated and was lying mostly in the street. She was arrested for violating a protection order banning her from consuming alcohol. She was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
Sunday, Nov. 10
4:38 a.m. An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Park Street about a traffic crash. After observing video surveillance, the officer identified a vehicle that backed into a hatchback and damaged it in the Bridge shelter parking lot. The officer was able to locate the driver of the Nissan Frontier that hit the hatchback, and the owner was issued a summons for unsafe backing.
3:58 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 2400 block of Trinity Avenue on a welfare check of a man who had suicidal tendencies. An officer observed a man with a knife at his throat. The man refused to let the officer in the house. The officer kicked the door in, but the man failed to comply with the officers orders to drop the knife. The man did not comply with several more commands and put the knife to his stomach. The officer pepper sprayed the man and he dropped the knife. The man was argumentative and refused to cooperate with the officer. The man was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for medical clearance, and he was uncooperative with medical personnel. After getting medical clearance, the man was issued a summons for resisting and obstructing a police officer. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
8:04 p.m. An officer was dispatched to assist the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office in serving warrants to several people at the Mesa Verde Inn, 640 S. Broadway. One woman was arrested on several active warrants. Another woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal substances. Both were left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Monday, Nov. 11
9:54 a.m. An officer in the 300 block of West Seventh Street recognized a man who had an active warrant. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
2:51 p.m. An officer was called to the 1100 block of Montelores Avenue about a report of a fight. A man was arrested after a domestic dispute with a woman. He was issued a summons for third-degree assault, domestic violence and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
6:42 p.m. An officer was called to the 1700 block of East Main Street about a traffic crash. A man was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way when making a left turn.
11:08 p.m. An officer was called to the National 9 Motel, about a report of a cold domestic violence incident. A man was arrested for violating a protection order. He was left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
