FARMINGTON – A $50,000 reward is being offered for information about the disappearance of a Farmington woman who has been missing since Jan. 18, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.
The reward is offered to anyone coming forward with new information that ultimately leads to the recovery of Sasha Krause, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The money will be paid by an anonymous third party, not the department or family members of Krause.
“The reward will only be disbursed upon successful recovery of Sasha Krause,” the reward notice said.
Krause, 27, was last seen leaving her residence near the Farmington Mennonite Church on Road 5577 around 8 p.m. Jan. 18, according to the initial news release from the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were dispatched around 3 a.m. to Lamp & Light Publishers, where Krause works, on Road 5577 in Farmington, in relation to her disappearance. Krause’s vehicle was found parked at the church, which is near her home. The Sheriff’s Office said investigators found objects in her home that Krause would have taken with her if she left willingly, leading them to say her disappearance was suspicious.
Krause’s family hired a search and rescue team, including a tracking dog, to search the area soon after her disappearance. As the search for Krause continued, detectives gained search warrants for cellphone records and bank account statements, the Sheriff’s Office said. Investigators are continuing to interview potential witnesses.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to urge community members to refer to its official news releases and social media accounts for information as rumors and theories of Krause’s disappearance have spread online.
The reward is being held by the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the Sheriff’s Office volunteer programs. People with information that could help in the recovery or location of Krause are encouraged to call the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Detective Hot Line at (505) 333-7878.
