New water barriers on stretch of river from Excelsior plant to Road J bridge create pools for suckers
The Mancos Conservation District improved the habitat along 2.4 miles of the Mancos River in September and October. As part of the project, the district created weirs to hold back the water and eliminate this sharp drop and fish barrier underneath the Road J bridge.
