There will be a fundraiser for Vickie Wallace, who was recently diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Cancer, on Jan. 4 at Lewis Arriola Community Center at 4 p.m. The event will feature: Cow Patty dinner, silent auction, dessert auction and chicken bingo. On the Eve of the Epiphany, the Epiphany Fire representing Christ as the light of the World will be lighted at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 6:00 p.m. The fire will be lit on the east side of 300 North Willow. The Cortez Cultural Center's annual Sweetheart Ball fundraiser will be held Feb. 1 at the Cortez Elks.
