FARMINGTON – Rescue workers responded Monday morning to a small explosion at Halo Services, an oilfield services company in Bloomfield.
San Juan County dispatch received the call about a possible explosion at 7:53 a.m., said county spokesman Devin Neeley.
Workers were engaged in breaking down drip tanks when one of them accidentally ignited a small explosion, Neeley said. The workers were using a cutting torch on the tank when it ignited gas remnants in the tank.
While there was a lot of black smoke, the explosion was contained to the tank, Neeley said. There were no injuries.
