The Mancos Board of Trustees will have four seats up for election in April.
Mayor Pro Tem Perry Lewis will be unable to run again because of term limits. Three other trustees including Rovilla Ellis, Chip Tuthill and Alan Rolston have the option to run again. But none of them have made a formal announcement, Town Clerk and Treasurer Heather Alvarez said.
To be listed on the ballot, prospective candidates must turn in a nomination petition with 10 valid signitures by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 28. Petitions may be picked up at Town Hall on Feb. 10, and candidates may begin gathering signatures on Feb. 11.
Candidates for a trustee position must be 18 years old, registered to vote, and have lived within town limits for the 12 months immediately preceding the election.
The April election will be a mail-in ballot election although ballots may dropped off at Town Hall for about a week proceeding and on Election Day. Residents may also register to vote prior to and on Election Day.
