For the Dove Creek High School baseball team, tough losses just keep coming.
Fresh off a 9-4 beat-down at the hands of Pagosa Springs on April 1, the Bulldogs travelled to Shiprock on April 3, only to be stomped by the Chieftains, 11-1.
Starting on the mound for Dove Creek, sophomore Colin Hobbs struggled from start to finish, yielding 11 runs on the day, nine of which were earned.
Six of those runs were scored during the bottom of the fourth inning, which saw Shiprock extend a 5-1 lead into an 11-1 advantage.
Providing a lone bright spot for the Bulldogs was the play of junior Alex Ogas, who went 2-2 at the plate and registered one RBI.
With their record now at 2-6 on the year, the Bulldogs will hit the road to play Ignacio High School on April 8.
