A female juvenile who was on a bike that collided with a vehicle in Cortez was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cortez Police Department.
The crash occurred at the intersection of West Fourth and South Oak streets about 4:45 p.m. The extent of the girl’s injuries was not available.
The incident is under investigation, said Lt. Andy Brock of the Cortez Police Department. The SUV involved was facing southwest in the intersection.
Emergency personnel treated the victim on the street, then placed her onto a stretcher and into the ambulance.
Cortez Fire Protection District and Southwest Health System ambulance also responded.
“There are a lot of school kids around this time of day,” said a neighbor.
