The June 7 Dolores River Festival will feature a wide variety of live music this year.
Rowdy Shadehouse is the headliner, featuring an extravaganza of high-energy, dance-funk mania sure to leave everyone on their feet.
The Denver funk band will visit Dolores for the first time, and are the latest rage on the Front Range.
Says music critic Time Wenger, of The Scoop 303, Rowdy Shadehouse brings down the house with "bass-fueled transition changes and the funkiest guitar riffs ever to come out of Denver. Every girl in the crowd went crazy at the sight of singer Jon Thursday's skin-tight pants and bright sparkling belt." Their act will leave you "speechless and desperate for more," Wegner says. "To not dance to an almost disco beat felt like a sin."
A Westword magazine's critic's choice, this party band likes to get out of bounds. Says Tom Murphy of Westword, "Frontman Jon Thursday is an intensely enthusiastic, confrontational and even transgressive figure whose visceral performance is matched by the rest of the band."

The main stage line-up also features Casper and the Mighty 602 Band. The group has been a main stay in the underground music scene since their first release in 1997 titled "Original Landlord." https://myspace.com/themighty602band/music/songs.
Then get ready for a new sound you won't soon forget. The Groove Master, PAA KOW (pronounced Pah-Ko), fuses rhythm and artistry from his home in Ghana with Jazz and African Pop. Paa Kow brings original music that feels good in all the right ways, http://www.paakowmusic.com/
The Jaden Carlson Band will perform. Her music and voice will blow your mind. Possessing an amazing ear and an insatiable passion for playing and performing, her abilities as a guitarist, singer and songwriter are truly astounding. Jaden's path was determined very early. While attending a Michael Franti and Spearhead concert, she decided on the spot that she "wanted to play music and make people happy like that."http://jadensound.com/
Also, the audience will get a special treat with the group Heartbeat. The Telluride-based acapella women's choir has been performing in the area for more than 20 years. Look for an upbeat, toe-tapping, river inspired set from some of the best voices in the region. Sweet harmonies are guaranteed to fill the air.
And on the Side Stage the performers will be Kate and Andy, Yearning for Yeti, and the Big Momma Donna Band.
