A wandering young lion tracked 558 miles to Mesa Verde

Mountain lion appears to have settled in park after 5-month journey
GPS tracking shows a young mountain lion traveled from his home range north of Albuquerque to Mesa Verde National Park.
This mountain lion, named Squeaks for his contact calls, was born at the confluence of the Jemez and Rio Grande Rivers in New Mexico. This year the sub adult male traveled more than 500 miles to Mesa Verde National Park.
A GPS-collared mountain lion from this family recently traveled from Tamaya, New Mexico, to Mesa Verde National Park, a distance of more than 500 miles.
