There were no new coronavirus outbreaks reported this week for Montezuma and Dolores counties, according to the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.
And two businesses — Alpacka Rafts of Mancos and Dunton Resort in Dolores County — were deemed outbreak-free Dec. 7 and Dec. 21, respectively, because their situations have been resolved.
Currently, there are 19 active outbreaks in Montezuma County and one in Dolores County, according to CDPHE.
As of Dec. 30 Montezuma County has had 1,210 confirmed positive cases since the pandemic began in March, up from 1,140 cases Dec. 21, a 6% increase. There are 734 active cases and 460 have recovered.
The increasing rate has diminished somewhat. Between Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, positive cases went from 998 to 1,140, a 14% increase.
Eleven deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 in Montezuma County. Five others have died with COVID-19, but it was not the cause of death.
As of Dec. 29, Dolores County had 50 confirmed cases since March, and three active cases.
