Southwest Health System is seeking people age 70 and older to fill open slots in its COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Wednesday.
The Feb. 3 clinic has about 100 doses available for people in the age category to receive the vaccine shot, SHS executive assistant Bridgett Jabour said Sunday in an email.
Efforts to confirm appointments for that day have fallen short so far, she said.
SHS’s current vaccine supply is earmarked for the 70-and-older age group in Phase 1B.1 of the state’s distribution plan.
Once shipped to Southwest Memorial Hospital, the vaccines must be administered within days before they expire.
“Forward this information if you have people interested in receiving the vaccine who are over 70” such as “a friend, neighbor or family member,” SHS said in an email.
There is no charge for the vaccine.

Colorado is currently vaccinating eligible Coloradans for Phase 1A and Phase 1B.1.
Coloradans in Phase 1B.2 will be eligible beginning Feb. 8 and will depend on available vaccine supplies.
The category includes people ages 65-69; educators; school staff, including bus drivers, counselors, administrators and food workers; executive and judicial branches of state government.
