A rash of COVID-19 outbreaks in La Plata County were reported this week, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Every Wednesday, CDPHE updates its list of outbreaks statewide. An outbreak is defined as two or more cases, transmitted within a single place, in a 14-day period.
New outbreaks this week include:
Cole’s Chop Shop, an auto repair store in Durango, where an outbreak was confirmed April 6 after three staff members tested positive.Durango North Head Start, a child care center, where an outbreak was confirmed April 13 after one staff member and one attendee tested positive.Durango Plaster and Drywall, where an outbreak was confirmed March 30 after three staff members tested positive.The Fort Lewis College football team, where an outbreak was confirmed April 13 after four players tested positive.Grassburger, a hamburger shop, where an outbreak was confirmed April 1 after two staff members tested positive.Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats, where an outbreak was confirmed April 6 after four staff members tested positive.Riverhouse Children’s Center, where an outbreak was confirmed April 9 after one staff member and one attendee tested positive.A social gathering in March, which led to four people testing positive. The outbreak was confirmed April 6.Another social gathering in March that led to 10 people testing positive. That outbreak was also confirmed April 6.Southwest Eye Consultants, where an outbreak was confirmed April 13 after four staff members tested positive.Previously reported, but still active outbreaks include: Bayfield High School, the city of Durango’s Wastewater/Maintenance department, Durango High School, Needham Elementary School and Park Elementary School.
