With the end of the fall rodeo season quickly, members of the Ute Mountain High School rodeo team are rounding into form.
Competing in Grand Junction, Sept. 20-21, the team was led by Stormi Pitman, who placed 3rd in barrel racing on the rodeo’s first day, 4th in barrel racing on the rodeo’s second day and 5th in goat tying on the rodeo’s second say.
Also breaking into the top five were Cassie Finley, who placed 4th in goat tying on day two and Cammie Maxwell, who finished fifth in barrel racing on day two.
Other top finishers for the Ute Mountain team included Maddie Shaline, who placed fourth in breakaway roping on day one, Shelby Fullmer, who placed sixth in the goat tying on day two and Bailee Karo, who placed 8th in the pole bending on day two.
In the team roping event, Cade VanSolen and Lance Stevens finished third overall.
Next up for the Ute Mountain Rodeo team members will be the final rodeo of the fall season, which will take place in Elizabeth, Colo., Sept. 27-28.
