Mancos Public Library presents an advance screening of MAKERS: Women in Comedy at 6 p.m. Appetizers from the Millwood Junction Restaurant will be served prior to the screening and a community discussion will follow the screening. Tracking the rise of women in the world of comedy from the 1970s to now, comics talk and joke about the challenges of breaking through in a male-dominated profession. Women in Comedy is one of six episodes in the “MAKERS Series” that profiles the impact women have had over the past 50 years in industries once largely closed to women — comedy, politics, space, war, business and Hollywood.
