Winds up to 117 mph were recorded in mountains near Ouray, and trees were blown down on the north side of Red Mountain Pass along U.S. Highway 550 on Monday.
Treacherous driving conditions faced drivers Monday morning traveling over Hesperus Hill on U.S. Highway 160. Numerous vehicles slid off the road.
