After starting its season 1-3, the Dove Creek High School girls basketball team appears to be on the verge of righting the ship.
Kicking off last week on the road against Montezuma-Cortez High School’s junior varsity on Jan. 8, the Bulldogs came from behind to win 37-20.
Dove Creek trailed M-CHS 12-11 at half before outscoring the Panthers 14-3 in the third quarter and 12-5 in the fourth.
Playing at home against Ouray on Jan. 10, the Bulldogs lost 52-38. Dove Creek trailed 7-6 at the end of the first quarter and 19-17 at the half.
Ouray outscored Dove Creek 19-7 in the third quarter.
At 2-4 on the season, Dove Creek will play on the road against Ridgway on Jan. 16.
