The Bureau of Land Management's northwest and southwest districts are looking for five nominations each for seats on their respective Resource Advisory Council. The councils make recommendations on public-land issues.
An advisory council helps the agency carry out its stewardship of 245 million acres of public lands.
The BLM, which manages more land than any other federal agency, has 31 advisory councils across the West, where most of the agency's holdings are located.
Each council is made up of 10 to 15 people such as conservationists, ranchers, tribal members, recreationalists, and federal and state officials.
