The largest number of calls were traffic stops. Twenty-two of those calls were traffic stops. Twelve of the calls were 911 hang-ups, and four calls were for a disturbance. One call deputies responded to was for a mental subject, and deputies responded six times in Dolores for welfare checks.
Deputies also responded to one noise complaint, one report of a drunken driver, one complaint of a barking dog and one complaint of a person who did not pay for their gasoline after filling up.
Friday the 13th at the Pub

Valentine's day in Dolores
Don't forget to stop by the Ponderosa on Valentine's Day. Not only is it prime rib night, it's also the 38th or 39th that Deanna Truelsen and Val Truelsen have owned the restaurant.
Skiing at Telluride
I was a bit worried when I headed up to Telluride Mountain Resort for some skiing on Saturday. I was certain there would be patches of dirt everywhere on the slopes. I was pleasantly surprised. It seems the warm weather down here has created perfect skiing conditions in Telluride. The snow was the perfect spring corn snow. And the temperatures were perfect. I wore my jacket, but I spotted quite a few people going down the slopes in T-shirts.
White sheet
I was once told a story about some Dolores old-timers who would bet on how long the snow would sit on the north slopes of the hills in Dolores. One man tried to beat the system and put a white sheet under a tree to hedge his bet. People started to wonder, however, when the "snow" was still on the hill in July. I'm starting to wonder how long the snow will last this year.
At the library
The Dolores Public Library will be closed for Presidents Day.
