Hayden Kocourek fundraiser and bake sale at the Mancos High School Gym at 5 p.m. Hayden is a 4-H member in the rabbit project. He has total kidney failure and is on dialysis each night at a cost of $900 a day. His medications are $300 a day. His family could use our community's love and support. A presentation about the book "The Wild Wisdom of Weeds" will be given at 6:30 p.m. at Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St., Mancos. Local author Katrina Blair and Mancos artist Jaime Becktel will present a slideshow of the 13 essential plants for human survival featured in the new book. Blair will share edible treats made from the recipes included in the book. Becktel will talk about rendering the drawings for the book.

A public screening of the documentary "To Light a Candle" will be held at the Cortez Journal meeting room at 5:30 p.m. with soup and sandwiches.
