Bealls taking donations for Pinon Project
On March 1, Bealls launched its spring “30 Days of Giving” campaign. All Bealls customers who visit the Cortez store March 1-31 will be invited to donate to The Piñon Project/Tree House.
“We are thrilled to launch our second year of ‘30 Days of Giving.’ Many of our stores have selected new organizations to partner with as a way to spread the support in their community,” Bill Gentner, chief marketing officer of Stage Stores, Bealls’ parent company.
Since launching in 2014, the Stage Stores’ “30 Days of Giving” campaign has raised more than $1.4 million in donations for over 850 local organizations.
As a special thank you, Bealls is giving every customer who donates to The Piñon Project/Tree House a Community Counts Savings Coupon that offers shoppers a 40 percent discount on regular, sale and clearance items. Bealls is accepting donations from March 1 to March 31, and the Savings Coupon is valid April 7-10.
“Stage Stores is committed to supporting local groups that make a positive impact and this support would not be possible without the caring hearts and generosity of our associates and customers,” said Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores.
Meeting sheduled for Paradise Village project
An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, March 18 in the Mesa Room at the Cortez Recreation Center concerning the Paradise Village subdivision infrastructure project, slated to begin this summer.
The project is to install water and sewer lines in the neighborhood, as rollback curbs, gutters and sidewalks. After the infrastructure installation, roads will be repaved.
Two presentations on the project will be held: one at 4:30 p.m. and one at 5:30 p.m.
Paradise Village subdivision, a neighborhood off of East Empire, is up for a complete overhaul of its water and sewer infrastructure in 2015 due to joint efforts of the city and Cortez Sanitation District.
In September, the Cortez Sanitation District was awarded a $1.09 million Tier II Energy Impact Assistance Grant for the project from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs.
Representatives of the Cortez Sanitation District and the city of Cortez will answer questions.
