People lined up to learn painting, weaving, fabric dyeing and how to write their life stories.
"We filled up four classes," said School of the West organizer Brian Killigrew.
"It went really well," he said.
Most of the classes were taught in the artists' studios, bringing the mission of the school to life - bringing students to the artists in an area rich with creativity and artists.
"Both the teachers and the students really like the classes," Killigrew said.

The Mancos School of the West offers a little bit of something for everyone, Killigrew said.
Killigrew said he was excited about getting Nighteagle to come down to teach.
"He is one of the best Native American flute players in the world," Killigrew said. "He is very well known and has lots of CDs out."
