A note warning metal thieves to stop stealing aluminum frames was also stolen during a third metal raid.
According to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, aluminum window and door frames valued at $100 have been stolen from an automobile glass repair shop on County Road G.2 on three separate occasions. The last theft was reported on Wednesday, March 25.
Business owner Andrew Spruell, son of former Montezuma County Sheriff Dennis Spruell, told authorities that he posted the note on a utility pole next to the aluminum warning thieves not to take the metal. The note was also missing when authorities arrived Wednesday morning.
A deputy warned area metal scrapers to be on the lookout for the stolen aluminum.
