This year Mother Nature has cooperated, providing beautiful weather for the Four States Ag Expo, which continues through tomorrow at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds. We urge everyone to go out. Its a fascinating way to spend a Saturday. The ag expo committee has done a great job of putting on a show with something for just about everyone, and with tremendous value for those who are involved in ag production or supporting industries.
Although its no longer the primary economic driver in Southwest Colorado, agriculture is still an important economic force and an even more significant cultural force. The areas ranching past still defines, in large measure, our identity in the 21st century.
The technology is intriguing, and the people even more so. Theres a lot going on in the ag community that others may not know about unless they make a point of meeting their friends and neighbors at the fairgrounds this weekend.
