1:30 p.m. A husband and wife reported that when they sat down to file their taxes they were given a notice indicating that someone had already used their Social Security numbers to file a tax return.
Thursday, April 16
2:00 p.m. A gate was reported missing from the Lebanon Cemetery, along with the latch and two hinges that went with it. One of the owners stated that if someone needed a gate so bad that he would have given it to them. He estimated the cost of the gate to be $40.
Friday, April 17
3:04 a.m. A fire was reported to have started by a dropped cigarette inside of a home in the 28000 block of U.S. 160. When the deputy arrived, no flames were visible, but there was some smoke. The resident of the home said she had put the fire out with a 5-gallon bucket. The fire department arrived, and it was determined that the fire was accidental and there was no serious damage nor injuries.
Sunday, April 19
12:30 a.m. A deputy was called after a woman reported some unusual phone calls. The woman said that she received phone calls from people claiming to work with both Visa and Incomm. They stated that some of her prepaid cards had been duplicated and they needed to clear up the issue and needed pin numbers to do so. When the officer was at the woman’s house, “Vince” called again and asked for additional card information. The deputy spoke with “Vince,” who said he worked with Visa cards at first and then with Verizon and then “sounded irritated” changed the subject when asked why he was calling so late and then eventually hung up.
