SouthWest Colorado Concerts presented their last concert of the season on Thursday, May 7 at the Montezuma-Cortez High School auditorium.
The Alliance Brass, a quintet from Chicago, stirred the audience with a range that included classical and jazz selections. The virtuosity of each musician was apparent, and their blend was impeccable. The encore rendition of “When the Saints Go Marching In” had folks on their feet and cheering.
The group held a master class for students the afternoon before the evening performance. The concert was a fitting end to another successful season.
Season tickets for next year’s concert series can be purchased now. Tickets are $45 adult/$5 youth. Ticket holders can attend all four concerts as well as our Celebrate! Local Musicians concert.
The San Juan Symphony will begin next year’s season with a performance on Oct. 4.
