12:30 p.m. Authorities received a report of identity theft. The victims alleged that someone else had used their financial information to file a tax return.
1 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to conduct a civil standby for a woman who claimed that she was victim of a domestic violence incident that occurred earlier in the day. After retrieving her belongings, the woman opted not to press charges.
8:51 p.m. A man reportedly drove to the Montezuma County jail for unknown reasons while drinking a beer. After becoming agitated while being questioned, the man was placed in custody, and medics were called to the scene. The man was given a citation for driving with a revoked license while at the hospital.
Friday, May 29
10:52 a.m. A man reported that he was defrauded by a bad $2,150.50 check that he received in exchange for a bumper he sold on Craig’s List.
5:30 p.m. A woman was arrested for DUI, failing to maintain a single lane and impeding traffic while driving along U.S. 160 before turning onto County Road G. The woman apparently refused to submit to either a breath or blood test.
6:11 p.m. – A woman reported that her boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and hair during an argument over a post on her Facebook page. The deputy noted that he would request an arrest warrant.
Saturday, May 30
8:14 a.m. A Dolores man reported that he lost a credit card.
10:20 a.m. A bicyclist ran into a moving vehicle near the intersection of 20th Street and Railroad Avenue in Dolores. No damages or injuries were reported.
10:30 a.m. A summer resident on County Road P.4 reported that a neighbor had tampered with his utility box, running wires to a nearby sewing shop. A citation was issued.
Sunday, May 31
2:50 a.m. A man reported that he was assaulted at the Visa Verde Trailer Park. The victim was apparently hit in the face and arm, but he didn’t remember who assaulted him. No charges were filed.
4:25 p.m. A woman on the 12000 block of County Road 25 reported her $15 mailbox had been stolen.
5:42 p.m. A woman on the 11000 block of County Road 23 reported that her $30 mailbox had been damaged.
8:30 p.m. A man reported that an unleashed dog at a gas station on U.S. 491 bit him. The dog wasn’t found.
8:37 p.m. A man reported that two off-road motorcycles had been traveling at high rates of speed all day on County Road P. One subject was given a warning.
9:04 p.m. A man was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and speeding after a traffic stop near the intersection of County Road M and County Road 25.
11:20 p.m. A woman reported that she was assaulted after arguing with her boyfriend over text messages that he had received from another woman. Authorities noted the woman had a bruise on her jaw, scratches on her arm and wrist and cuts on her shoulder and back. The boyfriend claimed that the woman was drunk and fell into a barbed wire fence after fighting with another woman at a party. No charges were filed.
