Mancos Valley Storage is expanding again, after the Montezuma County Commission voted to approve the business' high-impact permit.
The business was granted approval to add five additional storage units, a covered RV storage unit, as well as a building for an on-site manager's residence.
Owners Will and Sandra Lochte explained that they've recently added some units in the winter, which put their storage capacity at 6,000 square feet. Because of an increase in storage-unit demand, all units are currently full.
"We saw this coming a month or so ago, and we have some unutilized property and feel we could expand on that," said Lochte.
Lochte said he plans to start putting in infrastructure soon and the construction may begin in the winter.
"Well, it looks like you're just doing a continuation for a business that's very needed," said Commissioner Keenan Ertel.
Mancos Valley Storage is at 40575 U.S. 160 in Mancos.
