As I continue with the alphabet, I see some familiar families.
Lawson Bowling was born on September 28, 1894. He worked in sawmills and even owned one until he became employed as the Montezuma County road foreman. He held that position for 25 years.
He married Ethel Heath in 1915. They had five children. He passed away on Sept. 27, 1971, and Ethel passed away in 1977.
Harvey Dean Bradshaw was born on Dec. 24, 1914. He married Eulah B. in 1935.
He bought a farm east of Mancos and for many years raised Moravian Malt Barley for the Coors Brewing Co.
He had two sons, Jimmie and Alfred and one daughter, Rose. He passed away on Feb. 4, 1994.
Leoria Leona Davenport (Brittain) was born on Leoria passed away on Sept. 28, 1944.
William passed away on Dec. 1, 1925.
Retha Mae Ellis (Brown) was born on June 30, 1897. She was the fourth child of William Edward Ellis and Harriet Adelia Bell. She married Rudolph Brown in 1922. Her children, Norma, Kenneth, Sylvan, Zelpha and Thelma survived her. Retha passed away on Oct. 13, 1918 and Rudolph passed away on May 12, 1942.
Myrtle Fielding (Burnham) was born on Oct. 28, 1891. Her parents suffered the six month ordeal that ended when they came through "Hole-in-the-Rock" near Bluff, Utah. She married Vosco Burnham in 1914. Myrtle served long and well as did Vosco in the LDS church. Two of their children, Gladys Saulters and Ellen Paquin are known to still be alive. Myrtle passed away in November 1987, and Vosco passed away on Feb. 25, 1963.
James Barton Cook was born on April 9, 1913. He was self-employed most of his life in farming and in business. He was the water superintendent at Jackson Reservoir for 15 years. He married Laura Gilliland in October 1933. He had one son Jimmy (Esther). He passed away on Nov. 5, 1979.
