The consolidation of the Cortez Journal, Dolores Star and Mancos Times picks up momentum this week and culminates on Friday, Oct. 2, with the first issue of The Journal.
Today's newspaper is the last stand-alone edition of The Dolores Star.
Beginning on Oct. 2, subscribers in Cortez, Dolores and Mancos will receive their news under the flag of The Journal, one brand that includes a refreshed newspaper, website and social sites. The Journal will bring together news and events that impact you, your family and your friends in the neighboring communities of Cortez, Dolores and Mancos. It will provide more timely news from your community as well as shared community calendars, comics and classified ads.
The consolidated website will launch on Friday, Sept. 25 , giving readers news and events that are important to them and their friends and family in neighboring communities. It will provide a panoramic view of Montezuma County, while providing readers in Dolores, Mancos and Cortez with their own individual sections.
This week, you will begin to see sky-blue news racks at your favorite vending locations. Single copies of the newspaper will continue to cost 75 cents.
