Prominent water attorney and legislative expert David Robbins will present a legal review of preservation efforts for the Lower Dolores River on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. in the conference center of the Holiday Inn Express, Cortez. The public is invited to attend and ask questions or make comments.
Robbins was commissioned by local water boards, along with Montezuma, Montrose and San Miguel counties to evaluate the water protections in a proposal for National Conservation Area on the Dolores River from McPhee Reservoir to the confluence with the San Miguel River. Robbins has also evaluated the potential water supply impacts of other outcomes that could occur, if the NCA legislation is not pursued.
