12:55 p.m. A man blamed his landlord for damaging a tire on his company truck after the tire popped while driving in Dolores. He also claimed his landlord had harassed him. The case remains under investigation.
Wednesday, Sept. 23
12:08 a.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 100 block of U.S. 160. A man was arrested and charged with harassment and domestic violence after he reportedly attempted to punch a pregnant woman.
Thursday, Sept. 24
8:52 a.m. Deputies responded to a gunshot injury at Southwest Memorial Hospital. A man reported that he accidently shot himself in the leg while cleaning a 9 mm handgun. The incident occurred inside a residence on the 19000 block of County Road 34.4
Friday, Sept. 25
12:18 a.m. Deputies observed a motorist run a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 22 and County Road S. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to obey a traffic device and failing to use a turn signal.
9:30 a.m. Deputies attempted to serve a summons at a residence on the 200 block of Railroad Avenue in Dolores for a dog running at large.
2:20 p.m. A woman reported suspicious activity occurred at her residence on the 35000 block of County Road P.6. No items were reported missing, just rearranged.
4 p.m. A man reported that his wife, recently charged with domestic violence, violated a restraining order by sending him a friend request on Facebook. The case remains under investigation.
5:04 p.m. Deputies responded to a man blocking traffic on the Mesa Verde National Park exit ramp on U.S. 160. The man reportedly had been camping in the highway right-of-way. He was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct on public property.
5:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance involving a firearm at a residence on the 100 block of North 20th Street in Dolores. A man on leave from the Air Force reported that his brother fired a .22 caliber rifle during a verbal altercation between the two of them. The suspect was arrested and held for investigation on felony menacing. He was also charged with criminal mischief, prohibited use of a weapon, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Saturday, Sept. 26
6 a.m. A man was ticketed for trespassing onto Aramark property near Mesa Verde National Park.
12 p.m. A man was ticketed for trespassing onto the Rough Ranch Subdivision.
Sunday, Sept. 27
2:49 a.m. Deputies awakened a snoring man inside a camp trailer on the 23000 block of County Road F.5 to arrest him on an outstanding warrant.
8:45 a.m. Deputies responded to conduct a welfare check on a woman at the Dolores Riverside Campground. A woman reported that she and her husband had been involved with a verbal altercation. After leaving the scene, the husband flagged authorities down to complain that his wife had become a nuisance. He was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
11:43 a.m. Jailors reported that a holding cell at the Montezuma County Detention Center was damaged. In custody, a woman was charged with criminal mischief.
1:10 p.m. A man was ticketed for trespassing onto private property along the 37000 block of U.S. 160. Medical officials were subsequently called to the scene after a woman, reportedly smoking a cigarette, complained of weak legs while breathing with the aid of an oxygen tank.
Monday, Sept. 28
12:48 a.m. Deputies responded to a man sleeping in the front yard of a residence on the 1400 block of Central Avenue in Dolores. The suspect was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and also charged with violating a protection order and violating bail conditions.
9:50 a.m. Deputies euthanized an injured deer on the 32000 block of U.S. 491.
2:14 p.m. A man reported that a suspect in Brooklyn, N.Y., attempted to open multiple credit card accounts using his identity.
4:10 p.m. A woman called to complain about her son being ticketed for trespassing, threatening the deputy that she would “shoot them” if they returned to the property on the 37000 block of U.S. 160. Dispatch officials were notified to warn authorities if they were called to the scene.
6:41 p.m. Deputies responded to assist with a narcotics call at the Ute Mountain Ute Casino. A traffic stop reportedly resulted in the discovery of methamphetamines inside a vehicle. A woman was arrested and charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating bail conditions.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
1:50 p.m. A woman reported two trespassers on her property along the 27000 block of County Road H. Two women reportedly moved in uninvited with a ranch hand. Both women were told to leave the scene.
4:34 p.m. A man was arrested on three outstanding warrants at the Vista Verde Trailer Park.
