On Tuesday, the Dolores Bears extended their winning streak to nine games by sweeping a doubleheader at Ignacio, 26-5 and 15-12. Dolores (12-3, 7-0 2A San Juan Basin League) trailed 2-0 early, but scored the next 11 runs to coast to the win. Austin McCracken got the win on the mound in game one going a complete five innings, while striking out 10. He also hit 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Tyler Underwood was 4-for-4 with one RBI. In game two, Byron Crites got the win pitching a complete game and had seven strike outs. The junior hit 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs. Garret Becker was 4-for-5 at the plate as well.
The Bears close out the regular season today at rival Dove Creek with a doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Dove Creek Bulldogs lost a doubleheader at Nucla, 17-0 and 13-3. Dove Creek (1-14, 1-6 1A SJBL) got a three-run homer from Dalton Davis in game two for the scoring. He hit 1-for-3 with three RBIs and Jagger Watkins went 1-for-2.
