River highway
A standard gravel-surfaced highway will be built down the Dolores River to the Bradfield Ranch. The work will be done by the CCC men who will soon be established at McPhee. An appropriation of $15,000 for this project seems probable. The road will be a matter of great convenience to farmers and stockman who have occasion to travel down the river and particularly to the Montezuma Lumber Company who will use the road to bring their timber from the Glades region to their plant at McPhee.
Bears beat Bayfield
Dolores High School’s pigskin cohorts again steam rolled their way to a crushing victory, this time at the expense of lowly Bayfield. Minus the services of three players who had previously been in the regular line-up, and using every member of the squad during the fray, Dolores rolled up the impressive total of 59 points to none by the visitors.
High school notesub
The seniors have begun their class play, a melodrama called “The Drunkard.” The play is a very old one. Fred Sager makes a grand villain, Gale an exceptional drunkard, as well as Nihla being a half-wit. That won’t be hard for her she’ll just act natural.
