Rotary Clubs sponsor Imagination Library
Imagination Library is the major community service project sponsored by the Cortez and Dolores Rotary Clubs.
Instituted by the Dolly Parton Foundation, the program provides a book a month to children from birth until age 5. Books are free to children who live in Montezuma County.
“We are thrilled that we currently have 600 children enrolled in the program, with over 750 children enrolled since the program’s inception in late 2012,” Karen Sheek said. “Experts agree that getting books into the hands of children is one of the best ways to foster a love of reading and to develop good reading habits.”
There is no cost to families to participate. The Cortez and Dolores Rotary Clubs raise monies to cover cost of $25 per child.
To donate to Imagination Library, sign up a child, or simply learn more about the program, please contact Shane Hale, Imagination library chairman, at (970) 739-9720.
