I just want to say, Youve come a long way, baby!
Kudos to the local business called Cleaning And Restoration Experts (C.A.R.E.): On Jan. 2, after the snow and winds had let up some, I noticed a small bulge in the corner living room ceiling, which quickly went from interesting to Oh, no!
My sister, who had worked for C.A.R.E. years ago suggested I call them. I told her my carpet was fine it was my ceiling or roof that was in trouble. She told me C.A.R.E. had expanded and was easy to work with, quick to get there, and they work with insurance companies and had built themselves a very reliable reputation.
I called, and wow! within two hours, help was on the way. Two men for emergency water leakage; roof, basement, it doesnt matter they do it all. J.T. handled the insurance company, pictures and damage control, an adjuster taking notes and assessing problems both current and what was to come because during this 23 year time span, the dining room had been leaking and the roof and ceiling were quickly deteriorating. The whole corner of the living room was coming down. And right in the middle of a fast-developing panic attack came help: C.A.R.E.
There was an ice block which had pushed its way under the roof, causing it to leak directly into the house a big problem. C.A.R.E was professional, organized, knowledgeable, and very competent in networking everything we needed in the way of independent contractors for our special needs, and a carpenter to rebuild our living room inside out: Ed Dunn, a local roofer and all-around problem solver, did the sheetrock, mud, tape, texture, paint, and last but not least, carpets.
From A to Z and top to bottom, they aim to please, and checked for mold and other contaminants that could affect not only us, but the future of our home. They have the know-how, manpower, and the technical equipment for water detection and for drying everything before the work can even start.
They were careful, courteous, efficient, and effective. C.A.R.E. practically rebuilt parts of our house inside out; we have an older home but we love it and they saved it for us. They turned a really unpleasant situation into an almost pleasant experience. Our roof is fixed, and the inside looks like something from Better Homes and Gardens, and what did it cost us? Our deductible and $200 out of pocket, that wasnt covered by our insurance. Plus, its all guaranteed. There were eight other emergencies to structures due to the same storm and they were right there; the insurance company had told us it would be 48 hours up to a week to get an assessment.
I just wanted to say thank you and to let other people know that there are local, helpful, professional services right here in the Cortez area.
