For the Journal
The next meeting of the San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
FLC professor Jesse Tune will present “Colonizing the Southern Rockies: Timing and Adaptations of the First Coloradans.” Tune works primarily on Paleoindian sites that were occupied at the end of the last Ice Age, and how people adapted their behaviors and technologies to cope with those environmental changes. He is currently developing new research projects that are locally focused on the first people to live in the Southern Rockies and the San Juan Basin.
The public is invited. For further information, go to sjbas.org.
