The Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers and passengers to “Click It or Ticket” this week.
A zero-tolerance policy for wearing seat belts will be enforced this week, according to the department’s Facebook page. Officers won’t issue warnings, instead issuing tickets for every person in a vehicle who is not wearing a seat belt.
The department is enforcing wearing seat belts this week through Sunday. Other enforcement periods will be May 23 to June 5, and July 18 to 24.
“Our family here at the sheriff’s office cares about the safety of you and your family,” the Facebook update reads. “Drive sober, drive safe and wear your seat belt.”
