On Thursday evening, an elevator accident at a residence in the 30000 block of Colorado Highway 184 injured several people, according to the Montezuma County sheriff’s office.
Injuries ranged from bruises and scrapes to broken bones, including a leg and arm, said Sgt. Brad Ray of the sheriff’s department, when the elevator fell.
“It dropped 15 feet while going up to the ground level,” he said. “Apparently, something went wrong with the cabling.”
Three were transported by ground to area hospitals, and one was transported by a rescue helicopter. The injuries were not life-threatening. The incident occurred during a going-away party.
