2:43 p.m.: A man in the 6200 block of County Road 21 reported that he might have been the victim of a scam after he sent $10,500 to a phone caller who said that he owed $12,000 to the Internal Revenue Service. A deputy found that receipts from the Apple Inc. gift cards totaled $9,000 and that they could not be de-activated.

9:12 p.m.: A male driver was pulled over in the 13000 block of Colorado 145 after allegedly swerving. He was cited for driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failing to provide proof of insurance and failing to drive in a single lane.

Thursday, May 26

12 p.m.: A man was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Court.

Friday, May 27

6:44 a.m.: A male driver was pulled over in the 13000 block of County Road 25 and cited for driving while his license was under restraint. He was given a warning for allegedly driving 54 mph in a 40 mph zone.

11 a.m.: A man reported that his mailbox had been stolen from a residence in the 18600 block of Colorado Highway 145.

9:42 p.m.: A male driver with defective license plate lamps was pulled over in the 4000 block of U.S. 160 and cited for displaying expired plates, no proof of insurance and no valid driver’s license.

Saturday, May 28

12:27 p.m.: A female driver was pulled over near Main St. and Mildred Road streets after a deputy spotted an unrestrained child in the vehicle, and arrested the driver on an active warrant.

8:20 p.m.: A deputy cautioned a resident about safely firing guns in the 33600 block of County Road M and followed up again on June 3 after a neighbor complained of repeated gunfire. The deputy also noted that another neighbor was using a nail gun on a building project.

Sunday, May 29

12:21 a.m.: Deputies investigated a possible burglary in progress in the 17600 block of County Road 27.9 and arrested one suspect on warrants from Cortez and Arizona and on possible charges of criminal impersonation, obstructing a police officer, second-degree trespass and disorderly conduct. Another man was arrested on four active warrants and possible charges of second-degree trespass, obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct. A search for additional suspects was fruitless. A Bureau of Indian Affairs dog alerted deputies to an SUV, but a search found no drugs inside.

3 p.m.: A woman reported that a window had been shot out at her residence in the 27300 block of County Road P.2. She placed the value of the window and window blind to be a total of $375.

10:36 p.m.: A male driver was pulled over at 11th Street and Railroad Ave. in Dolores and arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia, failing to display vehicle lights and taillights and failing to clearly display license plates.

Monday, May 30

8:40 p.m.: A male driver with unlighted headlights was pulled over in the 7000 block of U.S. 160 and cited for driving with a suspended license.

11:54 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief, domestic violence and violating a protection order after a reported disturbance in the 22000 block of County Road G.

Tuesday, May 31

9:35 a.m.: A woman reported a possible credit card theft after a charge of $3,603 was made to her card at a Best Buy in Harrisburg, Pa,

2:30 a.m.: A man reported that his front license plate was missing for his pickup parked at his residence in the 18400 block of Colorado 145.

9:10 p.m.: An intoxicated man sitting on the side of the highway in the 6000 block of U.S. 160 was arrested on an active warrant from New Mexico.

Wednesday, June 1

12:33 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after becoming unruly at a home barbecue in the 200 block of N. 20th St. in Dolores.

10:37 a.m.: A woman was issued a warning for driving 36 mph in a 30 mph construction zone on County Road 25, and cited for failing to obtain a current and valid Colorado registration and for displaying expired Texas license plates.

11:45 a.m.: A man reported that a leather pouch had been stolen from his vehicle, parked in the 10300 block of U.S. 491. A deputy reported that he found no evidence and the vehicle was dirty.

12:35 p.m.: A man reported that a handgun had been stolen from a cabin in the 27500 block of Colorado 145 outside Dolores.

Thursday, June 2

9:19 a.m.: A tip from a liquor store in the 24000 block of County Road G.2 led to the arrest of a man in the 800 block of S. Broadway on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, driving without a valid license and falsely reporting his name.

9:24 a.m.: A couple reported that a Ruger Black Hawk revolver and a truck key had been from their residence in the 11200 block of U.S. 491, and the suspect, who had been a guest at the home, was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order, violating bond conditions and obstructing a police officer. The suspect’s girlfriend returned the gun and key.

6:08 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence and criminal mischief after allegedly assaulting a woman in the 16600 block of County Road 22. The woman was hospitalized, and a CAT scan revealed a fractured nose bone and lacerations on her face. The suspect reportedly told a deputy that he was “retaliating for her pushing me off the chair.”

9:37 p.m.: A woman at a residence in the 300 block of Central Ave. reported that she had been assaulted by her husband at a residence in the 15000 block of County Road 32 in Mancos on May 30. At 9:30 p.m., a deputy photographed what appeared to be a bruise and dried blood on her arm.

6:59 p.m.: A deputy patrolling the Narraguinnep Reservoir parking lot in the 23200 block of Colorado 184 in Dolores confronted a group of 15-20 people after he noticed a bottle being thrown in the lake. After an investigation, one man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and bond conditions by possessing alcohol. Two others were cited for possessing marijuana.

12:32 p.m.: A woman reported that an excavator was missing from her property in the 24000 County Road N, but a deputy informed her that only a charge of trespassing would be possible, because the excavator did not belong to her.

Friday, June 3

11:10 a.m.: A resident in the 112200 block of County Road 20 reported that their trail camera recorded a male on a dirt bike had trespassed on their land on April 23 to access neighboring BLM land. The deputy confirmed with the BLM that there was no legal access to the BLM land via the resident’s property.

3:32 p.m.: A woman who lives in the 15600 block of U.S. 491 reported that unauthorized charges had been made to her debit card in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.

9 a.m.: A co-owner of an business in the 300 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores requested a deputy’s presence because he was apprehensive about how his partner would react when he confronted him about business practices and the status of their partnership. A meeting occurred without incident, and the deputy stated that their partnership was a civil matter. The parties agreed to give each other access to the business.

Saturday, June 4

10:59 a.m.: A female driver was pulled over near County Roads M and 24.4 and warned about her cracked windshield. Her passenger was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order barring her from contacting the driver.

Sunday, June 5

9:08 p.m.: A male driver was stopped in the 14000 block of Colorado 145 and cited for driving 91 mph in a 65 mph zone and DUI.

Monday, June 6

11:20 a.m.: A man was arrested on an active warrant in the 6600 block of County Road 25.

1:55 p.m.: A woman in the 400 block of Central Ave. of Dolores reported an attempted scam that fraudulently used the name of the town’s mayor, Santiago Lopez.

12:57 p.m.: Solar lights valued at a total of $170 were reported stolen from an RV park in the 28000 block of County Road T in Dolores.

11:33 p.m.: A male driver was arrested on an active warrant and given a verbal warning for allegedly driving 77 mph in a 65 mph zone and driving with no license in the 1000 block of U.S. 160/491.
