Regarding the Cortez Journal, I do have a suggestion or two. First of all, I approve your continuing with the editor’s opinion on the editorial page. It is an honorable practice with a substantial history.
Some folks have misunderstood the practice and asked for pure news – no opinions. To do so would be to strip away a key element in our right to freedom of the press.
On this subject I would like to see more opinion pieces from local readers in the letters to the editor section, and perhaps a reduction in the frequency of the views of national syndicated pundits. Moderate doses of the national pontificators would be sufficient to temper our provincialism.
