The Cortez Public Library and Sunflower Theatre will show the documentary film “At the Fork” on Monday, Aug. 8.
Filmmaker and omnivore John Papola and his vegetarian wife, Lisa, examine how farm animals are raised for consumption. With access to large-scale farms, Papola asks the tough questions behind a hamburger, glass of milk and baby back rib. He discovers that America’s farmers are real people who are grappling with the moral dimensions of farming animals for food.
Showtime is 7 p.m., and doors open at 6:15 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $5.
The film is part of a documentary series partnership between the Cortez Public Library and the Sunflower Theatre.
