End of life for plant

Larry Archibeque stands next to his century plant that actually lives 15-20 years. He planted the Agave Americana plant 15 years ago because he liked the look of the cactus. Towards the end of its life, the plant shoots up a 25 to 30 foot shoot with large yellow blossoms and then dies. The shoot started in March and is now blossoming in his yard on Colorado Street. Archibeque is not looking forward to digging out the dead plant.
Bees enjoy the blossoms on the century plant at the Archibeque house.
