The second annual Ride of the Ancients Century Cycling Tour will depart Parque de Vida in Cortez at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
The 100-mile route loops east toward Totten Lake, south through McElmo Canyon, past Hovenweep National Monument to Road 10, and south to Cortez on U.S. 491.
The ride supports Montelores Cancer Care Assistance, a program created and funded by Southwest Memorial Hospital Foundation. The program awards $1,000 cash grants to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Funds are intended for living expenses, travel, transportation, and special needs, and awards are typically made within one week from application.
