The Moab office of the Bureau of Land Management is looking for volunteers who like hiking and birds of prey to participate in its annual raptor survey.
Field training will be provided. Training is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the BLM-Moab office at 82 East Dogwood in Moab.
The raptor survey offers volunteers the chance to be involved in a long-term raptor project that collects and manages vital data regarding the nesting ecology of eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey and owls.
No experience is needed, but volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair of binoculars, a GPS unit and a digital camera. Volunteers will be asked to commit at least two field days per month from February through June, monitoring an assigned area.
