This Friday, Aug. 26, is the last of the Grand Summer Nights in Mancos. There will be music, art, a gallery walk and refreshments at many of the galleries.
In celebration of Grand Summer Nights Gallery Walk, Vixen is providing a free concert on Friday night at Raven House Gallery, 120 Grand Ave., Mancos, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Vixen is Beth Wheeler on drums, Chris Massingill on bass and Marilyn Kroeker on guitar. All three women sing, and the band is noted for its strong harmonies. It is suggested that you bring your own chair. Raven House will provide light refreshments. All downtown merchants will be open with specials throughout the district.
Kelly Kilgore Chilcott will display her pottery, baskets, jewelry and rugs at Nathaniels Hats on Aug. 26 as well, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The collection is part of Chilcotts parents items from when they had a trading post in Tuba City, Ariz., for many years.
Arborena will have the work of Brenda Grajeda, Nick Blaisdell and Kelly Horrigan on display, along with food and drink.
The downtown businesses that will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. are Artisans of Mancos, Nathaniels Hats, The Columbine, Mancos Valley Distillery, Raven House Gallery, Arborena and Goodnight Trail Gallery.
