FRIDAY, SEPT. 9
Dispatch advised an officer to respond to a residence in response to a child who had called 911, and then the phone had disconnected. A male answered the door and told the officer that his wife was on the warpath and that she was in a bedroom with her 8-year-old granddaughter. The woman yelled at the officer to get out from inside the bedroom, then opened the door and slammed it shut, all the while yelling and cursing. The husband opened the door and tried to speak with her. She raised her fist as if to hit him, and at one point raised her fist to the officer when he entered the bedroom. She was handcuffed, and the granddaughter began crying and ran out of the room. The husband said that she had not taken her medications and that she was upset because she had just found out she was diabetic. She had gotten angry because she wanted a cigarette, but they didnt have any because they had quit smoking. She began breaking drinking glasses in the kitchen while yelling and cursing. When the husband went in to try to calm her down, she punched him twice in the face. The child said that her grandmother was breaking glasses and throwing knives, and that she became scared when she almost cut her foot on the broken glass. The child called 911 when her grandmother began punching her grandfather, and her grandmother grabbed the phone from her and threw it, disconnecting the 911 call. She then took the child by the arm and took her into the bedroom, and would not let her out. The grandmother was placed under arrest and would not cooperate with officers; she had to be physically removed from the residence. She was charged with third-degree assault, obstruction of a telephone service, child abuse, criminal mischief, and domestic violence. The child and an older grandchild told officers that they did not feel safe with their grandmother, who is the guardian of the children, along with the grandfather.

After finally being given permission to search the residence, the officers located the male hiding under a childs bed in a bedroom. He told them that he did it because he wanted to see his kids. He was handcuffed and arrested for a restraining order violation. The officer noticed a very small child crawling around at the top of the stairs, and when the female was asked to come and get the child before the child fell down the stairs, she said that she didnt give a (expletive) about her kids, and that she didnt want them anyway. The females sister was at the residence and came to the top of the stairs to take custody of the child. As the male was being led to the patrol car, the female began yelling him, telling him that she didnt want him talking to his family and calling him several expletives. The female then turned toward a neighbor, yelling at her and calling her an expletive for calling the police, and then began approaching the neighbor in a threatening manner. He shined his flashlight on them and noted that they all appeared to be under the age of 21 and holding a bottle of what appeared to be alcohol. A female handed the bottle to a male, who attempted first to hide it, then dropped it on the ground. When the officer directed the male to come over, the male suddenly began to run away through the trailer park. The officer encountered him again 100 yards away, lying face down on the ground. The male refused all directions to give the officer his arms to be handcuffed, and shoved the officer and once again ran away. The officer pursued the male again, and Tased the male after warning him to stop. The male fell down, but got up and attempted to run two more times, and was Tased each time until he said,, OK, Im done and finally allowed himself to be handcuffed.
