Aubrey M. Rush, 36, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of failure to display proof of insurance. He was ordered to pay $319.50 in fines and costs.
Timothy Sheldon Crawford, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession of alcohol. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, with 3 days credit for time served, and to an updated 12 months of supervised probation. He was ordered to pay $807 in fines and costs. Additionally, he must complete 24 hours of community service by Aug. 9, 2012. All standard conditions of probation apply, and defendant must report to state probation immediately after release from custody, and must follow all recommendations of same. He must obtain an alcohol evaluation concurrent with case #11M268, and must draft a 10-page research paper also concurrent with case #11M268.
Timothy Sheldon Crawford, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession of alcohol. On this matter, he received 6 months of unsupervised probation. All standard conditions of probation apply, and defendant was ordered to obtain an alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations concurrent with case #11M290. He was ordered to pay $207 in fines and costs, with an additional fine of $500 suspended as a condition of successful completion of additional sentencing requirements. He was ordered to perform 12 hours of community service by Aug. 9, 2012, and must draft a 10-page research paper showing research with cited authorities describing the effects of alcohol on youth and describing (1) why they drank, (2) what would have changed their mind at the moment of deciding to drink, and (3) make recommendations to curtail underage drinking. The paper must be formally presented to an audience of his peers, and is due Nov. 1, 2011. If papers are not worthy of presentation, they will have to be rewritten until they are acceptable, and additional court appearances may be required to perfect papers. This research paper is concurrent with case #11M290.
Elizabeth A. Rogers, 21, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under restraint and one count of driving without insurance. She received a deferred sentenced of 12 months unsupervised probation on the first count. On the second count, she was ordered to pay $806.50 in fines and costs, and was ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, to be completed by Aug. 9, 2012. She was ordered to violate no laws traffic or criminal, and to keep her address current with the court. Defendant was ordered to obtain a valid drivers license within 12 months and provide evidence of this to the court, and to obtain insurance coverage once her drivers license has been obtained and to also provide proof of this to the court.
Parker Thomas Koontz, 18, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession of alcohol. He was sentenced to six months of unsupervised probation, and was ordered to pay $207 in fines and costs. An additional $500 fine is suspended conditional on finishing probation successfully and completion of remaining sentencing requirements. All standard conditions of probation apply. He was ordered to obtain an alcohol evaluation and to follow all recommendations of same. Defendant was also ordered to draft a 10-page research paper showing research with cited authorities describing the effects of alcohol on youth and describing (1) why they drank, (2) what would have changed their mind at the moment of deciding to drink, and (3) make recommendations to curtail underage drinking. Julieanna Begay, 22, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under restraint. She was ordered to pay $214.50 in fines and costs. She received 15 days credit for time served.
